Content Archival Policy

Content Archival Policy (CAP):

Content Archival Mechanism is in place to ensure that all the outdated announcements are removed from the website or moved to archive. This will help website team in ensuring that the expired contents are removed from the main website. User department will transfer the expired content in archive section as soon as it reaches the expiry date

Archival Criteria: Content is moved to the Archive section under the following conditions:

  • After the expiry of validity (e.g., tenders, job postings, announcements).
  • When content becomes outdated but retains reference value.
  • When superseded by updated notifications, circulars, or documents.
  • As per record retention requirements prescribed by the department.

Archival Timeline:

  • Time-bound content shall be removed from the main page after its expiry date.
  • Such content will be moved to the Archive Section and retained for a minimum period of 1 year or for current Financial Year.
  • After 1 year, the content may be reviewed and:
    • Retained further (if legally or administratively required), or
    • Permanently removed from the website.

Retention & Deletion

  • Content will be retained in accordance with Government record retention schedules and applicable laws.
  • Content required for legal, audit, RTI, or compliance purposes will be retained as mandated.
